LYNX TRADE FOR TOP LOCAL D-MAN NICK PROULX
The West Nipissing Lynx have finalized a trade with the Temiscaming Titans bringing in top local D-Man Nick Proulx for his final year of Junior hockey.
The Lynx send 1998 Robert Ranger and 1996 Johan Gustavsson to the Titans in exchange for Proulx.
"We believe Nick Proulx will have an immediate impact within our organisation both on and off the ice. Sending two players as talented as Ranger and Gustavsson was without a doubt a difficult decision but in the end, bringing in a top local player like Proulx was a priority for us especially on the back end, our main area of focus this offseason. We know Nick will be a leader on and off the ice for the younger players and local youth and his consistency while playing top minutes will undoubtedly help the Lynx reach their goals throughout the year."
Proulx also states: "I am incredibly proud and honoured to be part of this new organisation. They have done an incredible job since taking over the program and have truly shown that they are serious about bringing not only a top Junior program here in West Nipissing but also a winning one. I can't wait to get on the ice in front of my hometown crowd and compete for the Russell Cup in my final year!"
Proulx spent his last 3 seasons playing at the Junior level (2 in the GMHL - 1 with former Lynx club the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks and 1 with the Temiscaming Titans - & 1 in the NOJHL with the Powassan Voodoos) where he tallied impressive numbers. Proulx scored 23 points in 24 games 3 years ago with the Lumberjacks, 21 points in 33 games 2 years ago with the Voodoos and last year had 7 goals and 32 assists leading the Titans D's in points with a combined 39 points in 41 games.
Welcome to the Lynx Nick and welcome home!
